Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as a American musician and rapper performing sly tunes that dealt with topics like racial or sexual identity with a comedic twist. In the years before she stepped to Hollywood, she was able to release a number of songs. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents in Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was via trumpet. Alongside classical music and jazz, the young Nora started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. At college, she was studying the field of women's studies and journalism. Then, she even had some time learning Mandarin at the University of Beijing. She turned her attention to music once she finished her studies. Her 2012 track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet and was later released on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album featured other viral hits like the body-positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. The track that was published directly connected to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her 2015 travel guide. After having a great career as a musician She decided to take on the role of actor. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors to Storks. Her breakout roles included Dude Ocean's 8 along with Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released her first film In Fina We Trust.
