Antonia Lofaso

Antonia's food is a way to explore her life. The food she creates is a result of her fascination with the cultural aspects of Los Angeles, which was inspired by a visit to Los Angeles from Long Island's suburbs. Cavatelli and Carnitas can be found to coexist in harmony in the menus, an idea that has developed in the course of many years. With every dish she serves she draws a picture that is distinct and speaks to a longing for the past. Scopa Italian Roots was opened in 2013 by Lofaso, who is inspired by her Italian American heritage. It received a warm welcome. The restaurant's version of old-school Italian has been hailed as one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian restaurants. Lofaso has been described by many as a local favourite that serves up food that's authentic, delicious and inviting. Lofaso learned from culinary giants with sophisticated cooking techniques. She didn't hesitate to take extreme chances to honor her intuition. She worked with a variety of stars and quickly rose up the ranks in Wolfgang Puck's Spago. Lofaso along with Sal Aurora partnered in 2011 to launch Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City. Through Black Market and the business alliances she created, Lofaso was able to find her place to call home. Lofaso was able to finally experience the creative freedom she longed for. Black Market doesn't have one specific direction. That is their intention. The course could start with potato chips dill and shishito peppers, followed by an ice cream roll Korean wings and a succession of meatballs. What anchors this bold array of flavors is Antonia. The success of Lofaso has been judged through her ability to remain honest with herself, while being able to comprehend her audience. Her memorable performances on Top Chef Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars celebrated her distinctiveness in the kitchen, and her skills are still shining in front of the camera as an expert panelist on CNBC's Restaurant Startup and in regular roles on The Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child as well as ABC's Real O'neals. Lofaso has released her book, The Busy Mother's Cookbook 100 Simple and Delicious Recipes, in 2012, together with Penguin. The book also tells the tale of her struggles while she studied at the French Culinary Institute. She also raised her daughter Xea also. Lofaso claims that her enthusiasm in cooking is the primary force behind her achievements. She stays in the know by keeping an watch on fashion trends and trends.
